Building on a Legacy: Completing the Learning Journey

How MYCA Learning and Executive Forum Came Together to Create a Broader Approach to Leadership, Learning, and Organizational Development

In 2003, Patti Massey launched what would become MYCA Learning with a clear purpose: to make meaningful workplace learning more accessible, more impactful, and more measurable.

At the time, many senior leaders had access to powerful conversations around diversity, inclusion, and organizational culture. But those conversations often stopped at the leadership level. Patti saw an opportunity to bring that same learning to the broader workforce.

MYCA’s early work began with a diversity and inclusion program called Edge Advantage, which stood for Embracing Diversity for Growth and Excellence. The program used story based eLearning to help employees across organizations better understand inclusion, workplace relationships, and the importance of creating environments where people could thrive.

From the beginning, MYCA was not simply creating training.

MYCA was creating learning experiences designed to change behavior, improve workplaces, and help organizations better understand what was happening inside their cultures.

As Patti shared, MYCA’s work was built around content that was “impactful and meaningful to make change within an organization in a positive way.”

That foundation has continued to shape MYCA’s work for more than 20 years.

More Than Check-the-Box Training

Over the years, MYCA expanded into compliance training, harassment prevention, workplace violence prevention, workforce development, custom eLearning, webinars, and in person training.

But the heart of the work remained the same.

The goal was never to simply help organizations check a box.

The goal was to help organizations identify real issues, create meaningful learning experiences, and produce measurable outcomes for the people, leaders, teams, and organizations they serve.

When learning is aligned with real business challenges, everyone benefits. Employees gain confidence and capability. Leaders become more effective. Teams collaborate more successfully. Organizations see stronger performance, healthier cultures, and better long term results.

Today, that distinction matters more than ever.

Technology has made it easier than ever to create and publish training content quickly. But speed and access do not automatically create impact.

The real questions are:
Is it meaningful?
Is it measurable?
Is it addressing the root issue?
Is it helping people behave, lead, communicate, or collaborate differently?

That is where MYCA has always stood apart.

The Missing Piece

For many years, MYCA was known as an eLearning partner. That focus created a strong niche and allowed the organization to build deep expertise in instructional design, learning technology, compliance, and custom learning solutions.

But over time, Patti recognized something important.

Learning is rarely a standalone solution.

Organizations may start with training, but lasting change often requires a broader journey. It may require leadership development, coaching, facilitation, organizational strategy, communication planning, implementation support, and long term reinforcement.

As Patti described it, MYCA had become one important piece of the learning journey, but there was an opportunity to support clients more fully.

That is where Executive Forum entered the story.

Since 1985, Executive Forum has helped organizations develop leaders, strengthen teams, and improve organizational performance through speaker series, leadership development, executive coaching, facilitation, strategic planning, and organizational consulting.

Executive Forum brought depth in leadership development, coaching, facilitation, and organizational effectiveness.

MYCA brought depth in learning design, eLearning, workforce development, compliance, and implementation.

Each organization had a piece of the puzzle.

Together, they could support something much more complete.

Building the Complete Learning Journey

The combined work of MYCA Learning and Executive Forum now supports organizations across what we call the Impact Stack:
This framework reflects a simple belief:

Organizations rarely need only one solution.

Sometimes they need to assess what is really happening.

Sometimes they need training to build knowledge and skills.

Sometimes leaders need coaching.

Sometimes teams need facilitation.

Sometimes organizations need custom tools, curriculum, or learning resources.

Sometimes they need implementation support.

And often, they need reinforcement to make sure the work lasts.

Every organization measures success differently, but the objective is the same. Learning should create value for every stakeholder. That may mean helping an employee build confidence in a new role, equipping a manager to lead more effectively, improving collaboration across teams, reducing organizational risk, or helping organizational leaders create stronger business performance. The methods may differ, but the desired outcome remains the same: measurable, meaningful improvement.

MYCA Learning and Executive Forum now bring complementary capabilities across this full journey.

Together, they support organizations in areas such as leadership, culture, communication, employee development, compliance, team effectiveness, workforce development, organizational health, strategy, and change.

Partners have always been at the heart of MYCA Learning.
For years, we have invested in building strong partnerships through organizations like WBENC. These relationships continue to shape our future.

Honoring Legacy While Building the Future

This transition is also about something deeper than business growth.

It is about legacy.

Patti spent decades building MYCA Learning, developing relationships, and creating learning experiences that impacted organizations and the people within them.

Samantha has deep respect for that history.

This is not a transition where a founder steps away and the story disappears.

Patti will continue to be involved as Founder, Mentor, and Advisor over the next several years, helping ensure continuity, sharing institutional knowledge, supporting key relationships, and mentoring Samantha as MYCA enters its next chapter.

That intentional transition matters.

It honors the work Patti built while creating space for the organization to grow, evolve, and expand its impact.

It also reflects a pattern in Samantha’s work.

After acquiring Executive Forum, another organization with decades of history, Samantha continued building on the foundation created by those who came before her. The same care and respect now guide the future of MYCA Learning.

The goal is not to erase what was built.

The goal is to build on it.

A strong foundation for the future.
Today, MYCA continues to grow through a talented team committed to helping organizations strengthen leaders, develop people, and create lasting impact.

What This Means for Clients

For MYCA clients, this next chapter brings expanded access to leadership development, coaching, facilitation, strategic planning, team development, and organizational effectiveness support.

For Executive Forum clients, this next chapter brings expanded access to instructional design, eLearning, workforce development, compliance training, custom learning solutions, and learning technology.

For both communities, the goal is the same:

Broader expertise.

Deeper support.

Greater impact.

MYCA Learning and Executive Forum will continue to maintain their distinct identities while working together to serve organizations more completely.

Continuing the Journey

Organizations today are facing complex challenges.

They are navigating leadership transitions, workforce development needs, culture challenges, compliance requirements, communication gaps, employee engagement concerns, and the pressure to create measurable results.

Solving those challenges requires more than a single workshop, course, or consulting engagement.

It requires a thoughtful approach to learning, leadership, implementation, and sustainment.

We believe learning is one of the most powerful investments an organization can make because, when done well, its return extends far beyond a completed training course. It creates measurable value for employees, leaders, teams, customers, and the organization as a whole.

That is the future MYCA Learning and Executive Forum are building together.

A future where learning is connected to strategy.

Where leadership development is connected to culture.

Where training is connected to implementation.

Where organizational development is connected to measurable impact.

And where people, leaders, teams, and organizations are supported through the complete journey of transformation.

If your organization is trying to solve a challenge related to leadership, learning, culture, workforce development, or organizational effectiveness, we would love to start a conversation.

Our commitment is the same:
To help organizations create environments where people thrive, leaders grow, and learning leads to meaningful, measurable results.

The next chapter of MYCA Learning is built on trust, shared values, and a commitment to carrying Patti's legacy forward while growing together.
